THULA THULA DID IT AGAIN !
Very proud of our new award this year again as PRIVATE WILDLIFE RESERVE OF THE YEAR for Kwazulu Natal for our conservation work.
RAIN AT LAST AND NATURE REBIRTH
October has brought the much awaited rains to fill up our dams and to totally transformed the whole game reserve into a green haven after the controlled burns of August and early September.
Wildlife is abundant in all parts of the reserve, and we can already witness the coming baby season with so many new births all around.
Our game rangers Muzi and Khaya preparing cocktails for their guests admiring the most spectacular sunset.
THEY WERE ONLY SEVEN WHEN THEY ARRIVED 25 YEARS AGO…

BOOK NOMINATED FOR FRENCH LITERARY AWARD
Very proud and a great honour that my book LA SAGESSE DES ELEPHANTS, the French version of THE ELEPHANTS OF THULA THULA, has been selected for the literary prize of the prestigious French animal welfare organisation 30 MILLIONS D’AMIS.

NEW RESIDENTS AT OUR WILDLIFE REHAB CENTER
Two new Galagos, also known as bush babies or nagapies, small nocturnal primates, have been brought to their new forever home at Thula Thula. Rescued by CROW – Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife – 11 months ago when they were only a few days old.
Both males have been split into 2 enclosures, perfectly adapted to give them time to acclimatize before a soft release is done, hopefully in about 2 weeks time. Until then they will be cared for by Sheldon Schollij and Gilliam Nel at our rehab centre.
With thanks for our wonderful team of volunteers for their help in building up the enclosures.
The Thula Thula Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is based at the Thula Thula Volunteers Academy.

CROW, Centre of rehabilitation of wildlife, is South Africa longest serving wildlife rehabilitation centre. CROW is based in Durban, Kwazulu Natal.
