OUR SUPER WORKING TEAM IN OUR ANTI POACHING UNIT
Meet Ashley our German Shepherd and Stuka our Malinois. They are both trained to prevent wildlife crime by detecting the presence of intruders inside the game reserve. These working dogs are vital to help rhinos, elephants, vultures and all endangered species against illegal activities.
Dogs are well known for their unwavering affection and loyalty. A special bond is created between the handler and his K9 partner, proving to be a most valuable asset in the fight against wildlife crime.
THE NEED TO COVER GREATER GROUND WITH A SECOND ANTI POACHING UNIT SINCE OUR RECENT EXPANSION.
Our Anti Poaching Unit has increased to 17 rangers, with 2 bases and two tracking dogs. The second base built on the new land was essential to enable the APU to respond quickly to any incidents in the southern part of the reserve.
We work closely with PROJECT RHINO to keep the dogs well trained. Working together to show a united force and share information and tips to make the team stronger and better.
A comprehensive INTEGRATED CONTROL CENTER operates 24/7, ensuring constant vigilance.
The team managing the CCTV (closed-circuit television)) allows to deploy the Anti Poaching Unit promptly, thanks to the numerous surveillance cameras set up within the game reserve.
Drone surveillance and air support serve as a crucial security measure for challenging terrains such as dense vegetation by enabling real time monitoring and swift response.
